Lakdayan Beach: A Coastal Escape from Coron Town

If you head up north into Barangay Cheey, you’ll discover Lakdayan Beach—a truly beautiful, serene white-sand stretch that is one of my favorite places to escape the crowds of Coron.
While many visitors stay down south around Coron Town, taking the trip up to Lakdayan reveals a much more laid-back, authentic side of the island.

Why Lakdayan Beach Is Special

What makes Lakdayan Beach stand out is its gentle, welcoming atmosphere—especially if you’re looking for a relaxing day or two by the sea.

  • The Magic Low-Tide Sandbar: At low tide, a long sandbar emerges right from the shore, connecting the beach to a charming offshore island. It’s a magical sight and makes for a fantastic coastal stroll across the water.
  • Super Shallow, Calm Waters: The water here stays very shallow for quite a distance, making it extraordinarily safe and ideal for families with children who want to splash around and play without worrying about strong currents.
  • Fun Beach Activities: There’s plenty of open space to relax or play. You’ll find a spot set up for beach volleyball and frisbee if you’re feeling active.
  • Adelas Beach Camp: The most idyllic section of the beach is managed by the wonderful Bonayog family (marked on Google Maps as Adelas Beach Camp). They’ve set up inviting hammocks, cozy seating areas under coconut trees, and shade-providing bamboo huts that you can rent for the day.

Food, Drinks & Accommodation

You don’t need to pack a heavy cooler when heading here. The small beach bar at Adelas Beach Camp has you covered with very good BBQ food and cold drinks that you can enjoy right with your feet in the sand.

If you want to turn your day trip into an overnight stay under the stars, they offer several great options:

  • Camping: You can bring your own tent or rent one directly on site.
  • The A-Frame Cottage: A cozy fan room for 1,500 PHP/day. It comes with complete bedding and a large foam mattress that comfortably accommodates 4 to 5 people.
  • Standard Cottage: A simpler room option available for 1,000 PHP/day, perfect for two people.

How to Get to Lakdayan Beach

Getting to Lakdayan Beach is simple, and I highly recommend making the scenic drive up north:

  • By Motorbike: Rent a scooter or motorbike in town and drive north via the Decalachao route. Thanks to the road being fully renewed in 2025, the road conditions are great, making for a smooth and enjoyable ride through the countryside.
  • By Private Van: Renting a van with a driver is by far the most comfortable option—especially if you are traveling with family, a group, or carrying camping gear.

Whether you’re stopping by for cold drinks, a grilled lunch, or a night in a beachside cottage, Lakdayan Beach offers a slice of Busuanga coastal life that you won’t want to miss!
